Coaching sessions take place weekday evenings during term time at various venues in Wolverhampton including Wolverhampton Grammar School & Aldersley Leisure Village.
Our coaches deliver high quality coaching sessions in a safe environment. The recommended ratio of players to coaches is not exceeded and children are coached within their own age bands. Strict rules of behaviour apply while, at the same time, children enjoy their skill work and small-sided games. Young players from different schools in their neighbourhood have the chance to meet each other and make new friends.
Football Activities
For the youngest boys and girls, the 4 to 7 year-olds, basic movement skills will be developed (Agility, Balance, Co-ordination and Speed) alongside basic dribbling, turning, passing, control, shooting, running with the ball and goalkeeping skills, using a range of fun games and challenges. 3 v 3 games ensure lots of fun and lots of time on the ball.
For older players, the 8 to 12 year-olds, there is a continuing development of movement skills and a progression in skill activities and games. Discovery learning is used to improve players’ knowledge. FUTSAL (small-sided football recognised and supported by FIFA, UEFA and The FA), 7 v 7 small sided games and Panna football (1V1 scoring as many goals as possible or a nutmeg to win the game) will also be introduced at this stage to encourage skilful and creative play.
The Goalkeeping session is for children aged 6 to 12 years. Handling, distribution, shot stopping, 1 on 1 situations and dealing with crosses with all be developed.
Girls and boys of all abilities who want to learn and practise football skills. Regular weekly coaching develops players, improves confidence and helps them to reach their potential. Children aged 4 to 12 years are able to register.
