Basic Programme (5 to 7 Years) Improving players’ enjoyment, agility, balance, co-ordination and confidence while developing techniques in a variety of activities and skill games to suit all abilities
Basic skills: Dribbling, turning, heading, control, passing, shooting, running with the ball and basic goalkeeping.
Small-sided games: Improving the use of space, forward passing, shooting at every opportunity and defending as a team.
Intermediate Programme (8 to 12 Years) Developing players’ agility, balance, co-ordination plus individual and team skills while maximising fun and involvement in a wide range of sessions, skill games and game-related practices.
Basic skill development: Introducing a variety of techniques that will improve all basic skills and increase individual knowledge and performance.
Small-sided games: Developing the understanding of positions, team work, winning possession, keeping possession and communication.
Each session includes:
Warm up Perform and understand a wide range of warm up activities which raise the heart rate, stretch the muscles and prepare the mind for the session ahead.
Cool down: Gentle exercises which allow players to calm down both physically and mentally.
Differentiation: Players in the same session will progress at different stages subject to age, experience and ability. Each session will be made easier or harder as required.
